E. Export to VCD using Frameserve
This part requires you to setup Avisynth, and VirtualDub correctly, otherwise; you will run into problem.
Using this technics will save you time and hardrive space. Instead of exporting AVI from Adobe Premiere, then load this AVI into VirtualDub to overlay subtitle, then output to AVI again. And then import this AVI into TMPGenc to convert to VCD format. By using Frameserve technics, all of the steps that I mentioned above will combine into one step.
Set up:
Avisynthv1031 and plugin v028beta37:
Copy AVISYNTH.DLL to \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
Click INSTALL.REG to install the DLL
Copy Cm-avisynth.cm.prm to \Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.5\Plug-ins\
VirtualDub 1.4.13:
Run AuxSetup.exe, then click
Now you are ready to work.
1. Double click on MusicVideo.ppj from \Making Karaoke using SubstationAlpha & VirtualDub\Premiere Project\
This will open MusicVideo.ppj in Adobe Premiere.
Click File\Export Timeline\Movie...
2. Click
3. Set your setting to the one in the picture below. Click
4. Make change if you need to, then click
5. Make change again, then click
to accept all your setting.
6. For File name, leave it the same because
it's just a DUMMY avi. Click
7. This Premiere Plugin window showed up
8. Now open VirtualDub
Click File\Open video file...
9. Go to the root directory of C:
drive, then select part0.avs. Click
10. Click Video\Filters...
11. Click
12. Select subtitler, then click
to accept it.
13. Click
14. Go to Making Karaoke using SubstationAlpha &
VirtualDub folder, then select virtualDub karaoke SubstationAlpha.ssa.
Click

again
17. Click File\Start frame server...
18. Click
19. Type in karaoke.avi for the name, then
click
20. You will see this window
21. Now open TMPGenc. Click
to cancel the Project Wizard window.
22. Click
to load the video template.
23. Select VideoCD (NTSC).mcf from the Template
folder of TMPGenc folder, then click
24. Click
25. Select Highest quality (very slow)
26. Click Advanced tab, then set yours the
same as below. Most of NTSC DV source has Field order of
field B. Click
27. Click
30. Select karaoke.avi(The one that we save
in step 19), then click
31. Clict
to begin encoding.
32. After TMPGenc finishes converting, just close this program.
Then click
on the Frameserver mode -VirtualDub window
Click
on the Premiere Plugin window to stop
